Before the beginning of years – a panegyric on Swinburne’s poem
A Zoom Talk by Tony McNeile

Chair: Richard Barker

Tuesday 14th October – 7pm

Algernon Swinburne was born with a silver spoon in his mouth.   He was educated at Eton and Balliol College, Oxford but he was a flawed character. This poem explores the human condition, setting out the parameters of a life which seems to have no purpose.  We will explore the truths within this poem.
